Subject:Similarity?
Security:Public

I just noticed this while browsing the Neon Genesis Evangelion soundtrack.

The following two tracks have a similar melody in part of them.

Shiro Sagisu: "Pleasure Principle" (Neon Genesis Evangelion) - at the beginning
Nobuo Uematsu: "The Empire Gestahl" (Final Fantasy VI) - starting at about 1:03

Agree/disagree? Is this a coincidence or is there some possibility of intention?

And anyone found any other similarities?

Abandoned Toys makes some of the most beautiful contemporary classical music that I have come across lately. If you like the genre, you should really look into their album, "The witch's garden".

Subject:Two questions of opinion, on the Mega Man X4 intro.
Security:Public

1. Does anyone think that Mega Man X4's intro movie would have been much better if the original song from the Rockman X4, "Makenai ai ga kitto aru", were used in its original form (Japanese language and all) in the intro to Mega Man X4 (i.e. the English-language versions), instead of the instrumental piece that currently sits in its place?

2. Does anyone think that it would be even better if they had translated the song, fitted the a set of appropriately-translated lyrics back into the song, recorded the English-language version, and then used that? (I haven't played Wild ARMs 4, but I have two versions of the same song, one in Japanese and one in English, and I suspect that what I described is what was done for WA4.) "appropriate" especially means fitting well in with the music, more important than matching the meaning of the original lyrics since they weren't really all that relevant to the game itself.

(For reference, my personal opinions on the two questions are, respectively, "yes" and "I'm not sure, but that's a very nice idea".)

Ok no one has posted in a while so i decided to post a song... ok...i have never done this before but i figured since no one was around now would be the best time. this was my first attempt at 'making music' using garage band. I am personally not a big fan of it, but until i learn how to us Reason better i will have to make due with this. Uh...try to enjoy.. ^_^ Song title: Cave Diving Fresh-Like (Vanilla Dome) Game: Super Mario World Composer: The GREAT Koji Kondo

I'm a newbie, and WOAH!!! Why's an awesome community like this so deadish?? Noooo, why??

Well, hell. Hello. I'm me. You can call me whatever you want. You can call me Cowboy Bob, and I'll probably respond. :D Huzzah!

Also, I don't play any guitar, and it seems like most of you guys do. So.... sorry. :\

But if you play piano, here's some crossover accompaniment from hell! :D (or Kuja's Melody)

:D
